We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethern.  But whoever has the world's goods, and beholds his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide him?
Little children, let us not love wih word or with tongue, but in deed and in truth.    1 John 3:16-18
Some children who live in the city dump.  They do not attend school.  They suffer from malnutrition and parasites.
One of the many cardboard homes with dirt floor.  They cannot withstand the 6 month rainy season.
No roof on this housing area.  Notice the pig and child in the same area!
Bedroom in cardboard home.  Dirt floors.
Shared family bedroom.  Families use what they find to make shelter.

For the cost of one average home in the United States, we will build 21 houses AND a church/school on our land in
Leon, Nicaragua.   The children will receive an education and the adults will receive job skill training.

Together we can make a difference!

We are happy to share with churches or other
organizations.
While staying in Nicaragua for a month, God ignited a passion and desire in our hearts to build a community of transitional houses and a church/school building.
We now have a beautiful piece of land that will comfortably house 20 two bedroom homes with electricity and running water, and a simple open floor plan church/school building.  In the past year, we have acquired a contractor that has drawn up the blueprints and filed all necessary paperwork to begin the project.  A committee has been formed to screen applicants, the most empoverished taking first priority.
The average income for a family in Nicaragua is $458 per year.  Recent statistics confirm that upto 82% of the people live on LESS than $1.00 per day.   Families build shelter out of anything they can find.  Many huts are made from cardboard and black plastic.  These homes rarely make it through the 6 month rainy season.  The goal for each day is to find clean water and something to eat. Many children are sent into town to beg or shine shoes.  School is not an option for these children.  Daily survival is their only concern.
God has a plan for these families.  By providing transitional housing, an education for the children and job skill training for the adults, the quality of life will change for not only this generation but for future generations!
"For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope."     Jeremiah 29:11
